The University of Birmingham is giving out the University of Birmingham Undergraduate Scholarship to international students based in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa who are applying for entry to an undergraduate programme at the University starting September 2025.

The University of Birmingham is happy to announce that 15 £5,000 scholarships will be awarded to international students from South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya who are applying to enroll in the university’s undergraduate program beginning in September 2025.
Together with our local representatives, who are mentioned below in alphabetical order, they are joint honorees.
The top-performing students beginning their University of Birmingham program in the 2025–2026 academic year will receive the scholarships.
Please be aware that no other reward can be used in conjunction with the scholarship.
The University of Birmingham

Requirements for the University of Birmingham Scholarship
1. The University of Birmingham must be the candidate’s first option for a full-time undergraduate program beginning in September 2025 after receiving an offer.
The student needs to be starting their first year of an undergraduate program at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
2. Fulfill the academic requirements outlined in their program offer.
3. Be considered to be domiciled in one of the following nations: South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, or Kenya (i.e., to be a regular resident of one of these countries).
4. Be able to pay the remaining tuition costs that are not covered by the scholarship, and be classified by the university as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee reasons.
5. Possess enough money to pay for all living expenses while attending the University of Birmingham, as well as any travel or visa costs related to studying in the UK.
6. In September 2025, they will begin their studies at the university (the scholarship grant may not be postponed).

How to Apply
By the scholarship deadline of June 27, 2025, students must have accepted an offer from Birmingham, made Birmingham their solid choice, and been in touch with one of our local agents mentioned above in order to apply. Academic merit shall be the basis for award selection.
Applicants will only be asked to participate in an online interview in the rare event that the University is unable to select an awardee based only on academic merit (for example, if two candidates have identical grades).
Early in July, decisions will be made, and the scholarships will be given out when the applicants enroll in classes in September 2025.
