Borno State Government Scholarship (2024)
The Borno State Government Scholarship now accepts applications from deserving and motivated students who wish to use financial aid to continue their education in 2024–2025.
The Borno State Government Scholarship
The Borno state government is principally responsible for organizing and funding the scholarship program as part of its social welfare obligations to the local populace.
Only natives of Borno State enrolled in accredited universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education in Nigeria are eligible for this award.
This is not a fully financed program; some selected students will receive a monetary prize directly from the state bursary.
Additionally, all academic fields are covered under the scholarship for undergraduates pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
As a native of Borno state, you must have received at least an 80% on your WAEC/GCE O-level certificate to be eligible for this award.
Additionally, at the time of application, you must be an undergraduate in your first year of study toward a first-degree program at any esteemed university.
Eligibility for the Borno State Government Scholarship
You must fulfill the following requirements to be eligible for this scholarship.
State of Origin: Borno State natives are required.
O’Level Grade: You need to have received at least five distinctions (As and Bs) in courses relevant to your course of study, such as English, mathematics, and other subjects from your senior secondary school exam.
Level of Study: You must be enrolled full-time in your first year of undergraduate studies before you consider applying.
CGPA Grade: To be eligible for this scholarship, you must have a CGPA of at least 3.00 on a five-point scale, or its equivalent, or 5.00 on a seven-point scale.
Higher Education: You have to be enrolled in one of the accredited postsecondary educational institutions in Nigeria, such as universities, polytechnics, federal colleges of education, nursing schools, etc., that are overseen by the country’s educational regulatory organizations (NUC, NCCE, etc.).
Document Requirements for Borno State Government Scholarship
The scholarship requires the following paperwork:
1. Initial school leaving certificate (FSLC) and National Identification Number (NIN).
2. Origin Certificate/Local Government Identity Document.
3. Your most recent transcript of records, which displays your cumulative grade point average at your university, polytechnic, college of education, school of nursing, etc.
How to Apply
For simple registration, adhere to the guidelines below.
Go to their Official Application Website: To create an account, go to the application portal and enter your email address and password.
Check the Status of your Registration: Your email address will receive a notice requesting you to confirm the authenticity of your registered account.
Choose a Scholarship Category: Once your account has been successfully verified, you can choose your scholarship category and log in.
The government of Borno State also provides scholarships for study abroad; however, you must select an undergraduate program in Nigeria.
Application Fee: A non-refundable N825 application cost must be remitted before you may begin the application process. You can then access the application form after this is completed.
Complete the form by entering your personal information, educational background, and academic credentials along with a date.
Upload Documents: Scanned copies of each of the documents above must be uploaded.
Give Bank Information: If you are chosen, the state bursary will deposit the scholarship money immediately into your bank account as a one-time payment. You must accurately enter your personal bank information.
Examine Details: Make sure all the information you entered is accurate.
Send: Send in your application and bide your time for review.
To submit your form in person, print it out: You will receive a PDF copy of the completed application form after submission.
It must be submitted to the Borno State Scholarship Board with your ID card, certificate of origin, and school entrance letter.
