Chinese Government NPU Scholarships
Students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees at Northwestern Polytechnic University in China are eligible to apply for the Chinese Government NPU Scholarships.
The Chinese government has established several scholarship programs to support foreign scholars, teachers, and students studying and conducting research in Chinese universities.
These programs are intended to foster mutual understanding, cooperation, and exchanges in a variety of fields between China and other nations.
The Northwestern Polytechnic University Scholarship provides international students studying and conducting research at the Chinese university with tuition, ¥3,500 monthly living stipends, and housing.

Eligibility Requirements
You have to do the following to be eligible for the Northwestern Polytechnic University Scholarships:
- Possess a healthy body and mind (no communicable or infectious diseases, no physical or mental conditions that could interfere with regular study).
- Undergraduates must be under 25 by September 1st, 2025.
- Candidates for master’s programs must have a bachelor’s degree as of September 1st, 2025.
- By September 1st, 2025, candidates for the master’s program must be under 30.
- Have completed high school by September 1st, 2025.
- Maintain a high academic standing and be capable of doing scientific research.
- An average score of 75% or above is required for prior academic grade levels. International standardized tests like the SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, IB, GED, and regional high school graduation exam are accepted at NPU.
- As evidence of their academic achievement, applicants may present other certificates.
- Possess the necessary level of skill in either Chinese or English.
- Possess legitimate passports and are not Chinese nationals.

Required Documents
Candidates must be prepared to submit the following paperwork in order to apply:
- Form for Application.
- Highest diploma signed.
- Academic records.
- A research proposal or study plan for postgraduate students.
- Suggestion letters.
- A copy of the photo page from the passport.
- Signed a certificate of no criminal activity (in Chinese or English).
- Photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form.

Path I – Chinese University Program-via university.
Step 1, Complete the online application at the NPU application portal: http://admission.nwpu.edu.cn/
Step 2, Complete the interview arranged by NPU and get the pre-admission notice.
Then complete the application form at the CSC system: https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login
Path II – Bilateral Program-Apply via Local Chinese Embassy.
It is advised that candidates who fit the requirements apply first to the Chinese Embassy or the local government.
