Applications are now being accepted for the Marshall Scholarships for 2025. Further details about the application procedure, the guidelines for submitting a scholarship application, the qualities our selection committee looks for in a successful applicant, and course selection are provided below.

Young Americans with exceptional talent can receive financial aid through Marshall Scholarships to pursue a degree in the UK. Every year, a maximum of fifty Scholars are chosen to pursue graduate studies in any subject at a UK university.

Eligibility for Marshall Scholarship

1. Candidates must meet the following requirements to be eligible for a 2025 Marshall Scholarship: (At the time of application), be citizens of the United States of America;

(By September 2025, when they begin their scholarship, they will have earned their first undergraduate degree from a US four-year institution or university that is accredited;

2. Possess an undergraduate degree with a grade point average of at least 3.7 at the time of application. Rounding GPAs are not accepted by us.

3. Have completed their undergraduate studies after April 2022 at their first college or institution.

4. Not have completed coursework toward a degree from a British university, held a comparable degree, or completed GCSE or A Levels while attending a UK school.

How to Submit an Application

It is the candidates’ responsibility to fill out the online application and send it to their undergraduate university via the system.

Subsequently, the establishment will verify that the application is comprehensive and determine whether or not to approve it.

If the Institution decides to support the application, they will attach a letter of support for the applicant and send it via the system to the relevant regional committee.

If candidates are thinking about applying for a Marshall Scholarship, they should get in touch with their undergraduate institution as soon as feasible.

Degrees Not Funded Under the Marshall Scholarship

1. Second undergraduate degree, BA/BSc.

2. MBA from any university.

3. Financial Economics MSc/MFE (any university).

4. PG diplomas or certificates from any university in any topic.

5. Courses leading to degrees in veterinary science, law, medicine, and dentistry that are professional (these degrees normally take 5 years to complete).

6. Degree programs that call for protracted stays away from the university or the UK, such as combined degrees with foreign universities.

7. Degree programs are offered remotely, including those with significant online or VLE components.

8. Courses leading to a master’s degree that go longer than 12 or 24 months, such as 15 or 28 months.

9. Under supervision, research does not result in a degree.

10. Degree programs with January start dates.

11. Degree courses are offered part-time.

Your Completed Application

Applicants are limited to applying in the region in which they are enrolled in school or in which they have their permanent home address, regular place of employment, or both.

Candidates will be immediately dismissed if they apply in more than one region.

Applicants may submit one application for the one-year scholarship, not both. Any candidate discovered to be applying for both positions will be immediately eliminated.

Applicants must use the provided web form to submit their application. The applicant’s US undergraduate institution’s president, provost, or academic dean must approve the application.

An authorized staff member of the applicant’s educational institution must submit and approve the online application. Please be aware that approval from your graduate school is required.

An endorsing institution is limited to a total of 24 submissions. The number of applications that can be submitted to a specific region is unlimited.

NOTE: There may be earlier deadlines for submitting your application at your university. For advice on internal deadlines, kindly contact your institutional advisor.

On September 24, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in the time zone of your endorsing institution, all applicants must finish and submit their applications, including letters of recommendation.

Your endorsing institution will then process the application and submit it. After this date, the application cannot be changed.

On September 26, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in the time zone where your endorsing institution is located, the regional center must receive the final submission of the application, which includes the three letters of recommendation and the letter of endorsement, submitted online by the endorsing institution.

The status of your application will be visible to you online.

Scholarship Deadline

The deadlines for the 2025 Marshall Competition are September 24, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in the time zone where your university is located, for applicants and recommenders, and September 26, 2024, at the same time zone, for endorsement and submission by a US institution.
