Who Can Apply?

  • Currently enrolled accounting bachelor’s or master’s degree candidates (with corporate taxation completion required).

  • Big data and data analytics experience is advantageous.
  • It is expected of you to be proactive and capable of meeting deadlines.

Requirements for the WIPFLI Accounting Internship

1. Pursuing an accounting bachelor’s or master’s degree (completion of individual or company taxes class is essential).

2. Above average accounting proficiency as indicated by college GPA; 3.2 GPA is required.

3. Need 150 credits to become eligible to take the CPA test after graduation.

4. Preferred coursework in big data or data analytics.

5. The capacity for independent thought and sound judgment based on training and experience.

6. Effective communication with clients and staff requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

7. The capacity to take initiative, prioritize tasks, comply with requests, and adhere to deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Real-time data analysis is used to deliver relevant information on time.
  • Aiming to improve the data inflow and transaction efficiency.
  • Replying patiently to questions.
  • Preparing tax returns for individuals, businesses, and fiduciaries under the applicable tax legislation.
  • Combining the accounting software programs and the current tax system.
  • Supporting the company in its at-related endeavors.

Tax Specific:

  • Prepare individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and predictions under firm and professional standards as directed by engagement leaders.
  • Recognize and utilize accounting and tax software programs nowadays.
  • Analyze financial statements and other tax-related issues.
  • Conduct a restricted quantity of tax return interviews as required.

Audit Specific:

  • Follow engagement leaders’ instructions and adhere to firm and professional standards when carrying out audit, review, and compliance testing procedures.
  • Get in quick contact with engagement leaders about open items, test issues, or other critical issues.
  • Prepare financial statements and footnotes, management reports, and other engagement outputs (or review those provided by the customer).
  • Gain technical proficiency in GAAP, particularly as it pertains to the designated product line.
