The NNPC/SPDC University Scholarship Award (2024)
The SPDC, an operator of the NNPC/NAOC, is currently giving out the NNPC/SPDC University Scholarship Award to deserving students from the SPDC operational areas in Delta, Bayelsa, Imo, and Rivers States.
The NNPC/SPDC University Scholarship Award
Application for the University Scholarship Scheme is open to suitably qualified Nigerian students admitted to full-time academic studies in the 2022/2023 session.
To encourage academic brilliance and improve the employability of young Nigerians, the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), the operator of the NNPC/SPDC /TOTALENERGIES /NAOC Joint Venture, is pursuing its Social Investment initiative in Education.
This merit-based scholarship has two types: the Areas of Operation Merit Award and the National Merit Award (NM).
- The National Merit Award is open to all Nigerians (NM).
- Areas of Operation Merit Award: Available to Nigerian citizens in the Delta, Imo, Bayelsa, and Rivers States, which are the operational areas of SPDC.
Requirements for the NNPC/SPDC University Scholarship Award
1. Citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are required.
2. Undergraduate students must be enrolled FULL TIME in a Nigerian university that has been approved and accredited.
3. Must be in Level 200 or have documentation of acceptance into an undergraduate program for the 2022–2023 academic year.
4. Must not be the recipient of another scholarship from a national or international organization involved in the oil and gas industry.

Application Documents
Make sure the following papers are scanned in clear copies for you to upload:
1. Passport photo (450 x 450 px) with white backdrop, no older than three months.
2. ID card for school.
3. Letter of admission from the university or JAMB (UTME or D/E).
4. Results of JAMB.
5. State Identity Letter (Providing Proof of Local Government of Origin).
P/S: The size of each document must be more than 200 KB, and JPEG picture formats are required.
How to Apply
Are you qualified and interested? Take the actions listed below:
- Apply at candidate.scholastica.ng by visiting Shell Nigeria.
- To create an account using your SPDC email address, click “Register”.
- To activate your account, navigate to your email box.
- Enter your registered email address and password to upload your data.
- Enter your bank account details, educational background, contact details, and other information. You may also submit the necessary scanned papers.
- Verify that the names used in applications line up with those on any supporting materials.
- Verify each document after uploading to make sure that upload problems are removed.
- When prompted to upload a photo, choose to upload a white-background passport photo.
- To access the SPDC application site again, click on https://candidate.scholastica.ng/schemes/NNPCSPDCJV2024
- Click “Apply Now” to send in your details.
- You will receive an email and an SMS verifying the submission of your application.
Note:
- Applicants are not required to pay SPDC or its joint venture partners. The application can be downloaded for free.
- Neither SPDC nor its joint venture partners appoint “Representatives” or “Agents” to help applicants with the application process.
- The application period begins on June 10, 2024, and ends on July 15, 2024.
- The proctored online exam will only be open to those who have been shortlisted.
- Only those who pass each round of selection will be given a call.
- Applications can only be completed on the Shell Nigeria website.
