1. Graduate Technologist Trainee, Apparatus Testing (Power Equipment Testing) – BC Hydro
Location – Prince George
Responsibilities of a Trainee
The Power/Electrical Equipment Technologist GTT program with the Apparatus Testing department is a four (4) year training program. Therefore, trainees will be required to:
- perform a variety of high-voltage tests for the acceptance, maintenance and failure investigation on a variety of power apparatus and equipment throughout the province.
- conduct a variety of complex tests with and/or provide specialized advice to other field
staff, IBEW tradespeople and external clients on the application of various types of analytical testing of distribution, transmission and generation equipment. - spend more than 80% of their typical work day in the field and up to 40% of their time out of town throughout the year.

Requirements to Join the Program
The successful candidate must:
- have a diploma in the Electrical Engineering Technology (Electrical Power and Industrial Control option or equivalent) from a program nationally accredited by The Canadian Technology Accreditation Board, or other training equivalent to Canadian Technology Standards.
- Must qualify for membership in the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC) as an Electrical Technologist.
- Must hold valid Driver’s License (Regular, full license [BC’s Class 5]).
- Must be eligible and able to work in Canada.
- Where equivalent status is claimed, provide acceptable documentation that will show equivalency of courses taken.
- Have an official letter from your place of education confirming that courses taken are considered equivalent to the BC Hydro educational requirement.
- Take a written test and complete a skills assessment during the interview.

Location – Edson, Canada
Responsibilities of a Trainee
All trainees under the program are expected to:
- Live by the values of our company
- Create and maintain all proper site and project-specific documentation including reports, files, and communications
- Assist in project scheduling including personnel and production timelines
- Assist in developing bid proposal packages
- Assist in developing and administering quality control turnover packages
- Attend workplace health and safety committee meetings
- Enforce and follow all proper construction codes and specifications in jurisdictions
- Conduct hazard assessments
- Conduct job planning and benchmarking
- Assist with corporate estimating
- Assist in the development and management of assigned projects

Requirements for Joining the Program
- Applicants must be mobile and willing to relocate.
- Applicants should be interested in pursuing a career in field construction and or project management.
- Applicants can be recent graduates, or expecting to graduate shortly, with a Construction Technology, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Surveying/Geomatics, and or Project Management Diploma/Degree.
- Certificated apprentices and/or Journeypersons in a relevant construction trade may also be considered for this program however must depict a high level of technical background and work experience.
- Applicants must be mobile and willing to relocate to Edson for duration of the program (approximately 2-3 years)
- Applicants must have the ability to commute to and from project site locations as required
- Previous field level construction experience will be considered a valuable asset in addition to the required education.

4. E&I Trainee – Agnico Eagle (SANAJIKSANUT)
Location – Rankin Inlet, Canada
Responsibilities
Applicants must:
- Attend a 42-day training (3 rotations) program at the Meliadine mine site;
- E&I Trainee will learn during the training program how to :
- Learn how to operate heavy equipment such as vacuum truck, haul truck and roller packer
- Follow the Trainer’s instructions at all times;
- Those who successfully complete the program will be hired as full-time, permanent Agnico Eagle employees with the E&I Department
- The employee must succeed to graduate;
- Employees must respect AEM’s policies before and during the program.
Requirements
- Must pass a pre-employment medical exam and be deemed fit to work;
- Possess the physical requirements to perform the job;
- Possess strong work ethics, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written).
- Successfully complete a literacy and numeracy skill assessment;
