METI Japan Internship Program 2025
The Japanese Government is currently sponsoring internship programs known as the METI Japan Internship Program. For students and young professionals who want to learn more about Japan and its culture, the government provides a wide range of internship opportunities.
METI Japan Internship Program
The goal of this program is to give individuals from developing nations a fantastic opportunity to study foreign business practices from Japanese companies and to gain knowledge and skills from Japanese enterprises.

Benefits of METI Japan Internship Program

2. Insurance for internships (personal credit, liability, and contract performance cost insurance).

Requirements for METI Japan Internship Program
Eligible individuals are those who fulfill each of the following criteria:
1. Able to support the program’s objectives and help advance the globalization of Japanese businesses, their growth abroad, and the development of networks with foreign institutions through the internship.
2. Possess the nationality of a nation listed by the OECD or DAC (with the exception of the People’s Republic of China).
Candidates may apply if they live in a nation other than their home country, even developed nations. However, applicants currently residing in Japan are not eligible to apply.
3. Individuals that possess a specified level of English or Japanese language proficiency (JLPT Japanese Language Proficiency Test N3 or higher).
4. Applicants must, in theory, be between the ages of 18 and 40 on August 25, 2025.

5. Individuals who are enrolled in or have completed a technical college, junior college, or other higher education institution.
6. In addition to a letter of recommendation from their connected institution or university staff, students must be able to present a certificate of enrollment from their associated university.
Graduates must be able to present a letter of recommendation from the faculty or connected institution, as well as a graduation certificate from their affiliated university.

Internship Location
Small and medium-sized businesses that mostly operate in Japan (apart from local governments, non-profits, and trade associations).
The secretariat will use matching to choose the host enterprise.
Under the supervision and guidance of the host organization, the intern will complete the internship for online courses from his or her home, place of employment, etc.
Selection Process
The Japan office will assess applications and do an initial interview (either in English or Japanese) to choose candidates.
You will be required to present individual papers at the time of the interview, including recommendation letters and certificates (such as your enrollment certificate or language competency test results).
The secretariat will prioritize the selection of combinations that are anticipated to accomplish the project’s goals by comparing the experience and preferences of internship applicants with the company’s registration information and activity plans.
The company will conduct a second interview with the chosen intern applicants before choosing the ultimate intern candidate. (As the interview is voluntary, it might not take place.)
Both the firm and the intern applicant will be informed of the matching results, and the match will be finalized upon mutual consent.
